Reunited, At Last

Jon's little buddy Mooglie is bouncing through Piddler's Green with his friend Rustle now.

This has been a bad year for furry friends. Mooglie was preceded to the Green by my Lenny and Squiggy, as well as Jon's Rustle. This week we have to be grateful for the years of joy they brought to our lives.

Mistress Lisa and her Squeeze have fashioned a 4-story cage out of two double-decker cages. Sebastian's old cage featured a crawl tube on top; this week I'm chipping in Gracie's first cage to serve as an add-on.

It saddens me to report that I'm out of the ferret ranching business. Lisa the Biker Chick, my awesome ferret sitter and house watcher, offered to adopt the boys and spare me the discomfort of pet allergies. They've gone to a good home with a couple cats to chase and I get my reloading room back. Lisa just got over the loss of little Sebastian and adores Lenny and Squiggy (when they aren't digging in her couch or pooping in the corner), so it's a win-win-win for everybody. But I miss them already.

Opened up my rear sliding glass door tonight to let in some cool air... and launched into a sneezing fit. Since I've had my backjungle mostly defoliated for a few weeks now, I finger it must be all the junk the winds have picked up. Or I'm allergic to my screen door.

Meanwhile, Lenny and Squiggy are pissed that the base commissary is out of Loratidine. I've done the Benadryl thing a couple nights in a row this week to fight the eye itchies (actually, they were almost pasted shut), thinking it was the ferrets, when I realized I'd had the back door open at night. So now I just run the ceiling fan, door closed, ferrets unhugged, but not ignored. Yogurt-covered raisins are a poor substitute for weasel-squeezin', but I'm sure they know I love 'em. Okay, Squig, I'll change the papers tomorrow!

The mayor was outraged that David was outraged. They went back and forth during the summer of 1999.
