Buy a Gun Day

Y'all get anything good?

Anyone know what this might be?  One of them T-Shirt cannons like they use at sporting events?

Passing the Thumper

What do you do when your best buddy has a case of 7.62x51 and nothing to shoot it and you buy a New Thumper that captures your gunny heart, rendering your Old Thumper a gun safe queen?

You work something out....

Just in Time to Sway Your Vote

Last night, we (Team Nine Buddhas) won the First Friday Shorts competition at the Loft Cinema. Audio was less than perfect, but that's what you get when you film in a South Tucson warehouse instead of a sound studio.

It's Really Blowing

Those folks back East who still have power for the duration of Hurricane Sandy can thank their lucky stars their power lines weren't hit by falling trees. They're also lucky that an oil- or coal-fired power plant somewhere continues to run during the storm.

Wonder how those wind turbines and solar cells fare in gale-force winds and covered with sheets of rain?

Think about that next time someone says they want to replace those smokestacks with solar and wind farms.  Or maybe you like sitting in the dark with a flashlight.

A REAL M-1 Carbine!

My buddy Chief surprised me with a wonderful gifty this weekend, an M-1 Carbine! He knew I had one or two Universal carbines from our days in West Texas a decade or three ago and picked up a little war-era Saginaw M-1 Carbine in a private sale. Since he already had an IBM carbine of comparable quality, he decided to spread the hoplo-happiness to me, rather than start an M-1 menagerie (he is shopping for another gun safe though, so who knows?).

What did Santa bring you?

Ringing in the New Year

The BinkerDad and BinkerMom helped me scare away the evil remnants of 2011 with well-controlled celebratory gunfire. Somehow, the BinkerMom isn't happy just plinking with a .22 any more.

Merry Christmas to All

Even you rotten bastards who declined both of my credit cards during my Christmas shopping. At least they didn't start declining me in the middle of frikkin' West Texas like last time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Having an Asocial Hermit Thanksgiving this year, mostly because I have tons of homework assignments to finish. I'm thankful that friends have invited me to their family feasts and grateful that family and friends are in good health. Mom, be careful with that cold!

As I have for AHTs in the past, I avoid any traditional holiday foods. My only concession to feasting is the store-bought key lime pie (which Mom never makes, so it doesn't count as traditional). Now, if only I could turn off the football and get some work done....

Happy Halloween!

Of course, there's no such thing as monsters.... they're just misunderstood.

Here's a Snuf Film I helped make this summer.

Set Phasers to "Fun!"

No, I'm not beating Gorn ass for the amusement of powerful aliens, I'm rescuing Bubba! Again!

The stage actually combined the "Forrest Gump" stage from last year with Jim Brown's charge during the "The Dirty Dozen."

The 2011 AZ State Sub-Gun Match would have been much more fun if my UZI worked right, but I got to play wearing shorts in the sun while those back East are under snowfall.

Jon won the Semi-Auto Division, and doing so with an AR, won an upper and lower AR kit from Sun Devil Manufacturing.

Rio Salado Sportsmen's Club did a great job giving us challenging shooting problems. Many thanks to the match sponsors, especially 5.11 Tactical, who replaced my sweat-stained 5.11 cap with a nice 9-11 Commemorative version. The Compleat List o' Sponsors:
