Rock'n'ROLL!

Another Sub-Gun/PCC match and I'm still borrowing Jon's gun. Mine worked great at the latest function check, but before a last-minute range trip, I cycled a few rounds through (safety engaged) manually and it still won't extract correctly. If I searched hard enough, I could probably find a 9-mm AR extractor/ejector, but since mine is held together by Klingon-Metric hex nuts for which I don't have wrenches, I decided to buy a whole bolt carrier assembly and see if that solves the problem. How well did I do? Thirtieth out of 61 shooters... Top Half, Baby! See the tall guy with the KelTec? I squeezed in a few seconds ahead of him. His own KelTec took a dump on him; good thing Jon was thoughtful enough to bring his own KelTec as a spare! I look forward to the day when I can shoot this and other matches without my sub-gun or pistol-caliber carbine failing me.

Time to Take a Break

It seems that every time I don't design a match for the Cactus Combat Match League, the Multi-Gun Match becomes an Additional Gun Match.  I've come to the realization that the League likes it that way, so I'm not going to bother designing any more.  The Phoenix Rod & Gun Club at South Mountain puts on a good 3-Gun Match the same Sunday, so I won't miss out on 3-Gun fun in the sun.  We'll still shoot at Cactus once in a while, but I see Rio Salado and South Mountain becoming more prominent in the match mix.

Lisa the Biker Chick

My bestie Lisa the Biker Chick has endured some tough times since her motorcycle accident a few years ago.  Her injuries and the medications to treat them led to weight gain, a dependency on the narcotics to cope with the pain, and a bout of pneumonia, Now, after several surgeries and a determination to free herself from prescription painkillers, Lisa has bounced back.

I was surprised when she agreed to a photo shoot for my DigiPhoto class assignment... even more surprised when I saw she was back down to her Hot Biker Chick Figure.

I'm sure her Boyfriend is even happier for her.

Her girlfriend Sascha, too.

New Banner, Maybe?

Really digging the Digital Photography class!  It's forced me out of the Auto mode and has me balancing aperture, speed, and ISO on the fly.  I still haven't bothered to get a gray card yet (don't tell my professor).  Pretty soon, it'll probably force me out of the house so I'd actually have to interact with people and photograph them.
