OK, so giving a 4,000 Lb constipated Elephant an "exlax snax" chocolate bar might have slight repercussions.
Send me some Blog Ad Fodder, Marc! Or I'll make some up... heh.

I'm Baaack!

Got back to the Olde Pueblo at 1 am Wednesday with eyes full of gravel and a toothache developing. Got woken by the Red Cross Lady around 10 am asking for a blood donation, which I immediately scheduled for 1 pm since school would start the next day. Added to my ARC T-Shirt collection and my Gallon Pin collection as I donated pint #96.

Had a blast with the Family while I was back East on vacation, even though it was only two weeks. The only shooty goodness was sharing two cylinders of 1860 Army cap-and-ball Pyrodex smoke generation with Lil Bro. No side-trip to Maryland, but at least the longer Summer semester resulted in two A's to push my GPA up to 3.9-something. Today, I put on my long-pants and went back to school. On tap this semester: Film Animation, Location Audio, Multimedia Design: Flash, and Photoshop. Looks like more Blog applications than career fodder, but I'm okay with that.

Coinky-dinx

I've encountered a lot of coincidences in my travels, and some of those coincidences were encounters. This week's meeting takes the cake for randomness. I'd stopped into an I-40 McD's about 58 miles east of Memphis TN for a bite, a large coffee, and some free Wi-Fi. I was nursing my large caffeine and catching up on FaceBook when I thought I spotted my old tech school boss coming in with a young lady and heading for the rest rooms. He'd retired as a Chief Master Sergeant and had recently updated his FB profile, so I wasn't thrown off by his headful of blond curls. When they came out and started heading over to order, it took a few shouts to convince him I wasn't a crazy, old, scruffy guy jabbering into a BlueTooth headset.

Turns out he and his daughter were headed from the Left Coast to Nashville, then to New York State, so if they hadn't stopped at Nashville, I might have run into them again on my way to Hooftytown PA.

Busy, Busy

Actually, I've been screwing off a lot, succumbing to vicious nap attacks because my Biology/Nutrition class is over and my free time usually isn't spent socializing or on yard work. Now it's time to get off the mark, finish off my Cinema History class and get the Ranger ready for a road trip back East. Wouldn't you know I just got two inquiries about (short) indie movie projects! A double for the end of this week and another for the end of the month (hopefully after my return for the next semester). Being the outside contractor, I probably won't get in on the paying gig this week, but the music video ought to be good experience and I'm really looking forward to the Western that's coming up at the end of the month. I might be doing the Armorer thing for this one.

But meanwhile, it's time to pop The Day the Earth Stood Still into the DVD slot....
