View from the Hummer

Stage 7: "Blame it on Rio" was our first long-range stage. It was a true three-gun stage and the rifle shooting position was the front seat of a mock Hummer.

Rifle targets ranged from hanging steel at 100 yards, plates at intermediate ranges, and auto-resetting LaRue knockdown targets just short of 300 yards. (It's nice to have a guy with a laser rangefinder on the squad.) I had more trouble with the intermediate plates (shown left side to the right of solitary white barrels, above white squares in the hi-res) than I did with the LaRues (barely visible to the right of solitary white barrels at center right).

The movie (cut short for brevity) shows Jon zipping through the stage; range officers call hits on the distant steel.

High Res Pic stashed here.

I used regular Federal #7 1/2 dove and quail loads or Federal low recoil slugs for the whole match.
