Yeah, I agree. At the risk of pissing off the segment who buys these things (?)...what can they do that a short big-bore carbine can't do (more accurately).
I can think of no situation where I would want one vis a rifle.
How many people actually hunt with these things anywho? Are they any good for silhouette matches?
But I will defend to the death your right to buy one of these cannons.

What they do, that carbines don't, is qualify for limited pistol hunting deer seasons in many states.

I know some folks up here in Alaska find it easier to have a handheld howitzer strapped to their leg than to sling up a shotgun or rifle. Mostly while fishing or hiking.
Other than that, I have no idea why someone would want something that huge.
