Recommendations?

I've always had faith in Sony products (I'm on my third Sony TV set in 26 years), but I'm open to suggestions.

Might as well get one with a camera in it. Don't really care about MP3 players or games. Better get the headset thing 'cuz homey ain't coordinated enough to yak and drive....

Update: I got a Sony of my Owny on the way.

Better Half and I have always been happy with our Motorolas (currently, KRZRs, and RAZRs before that). Beyond that, my only suggestion is to highly recommend a Bluetooth headset over a standard wired one... You might think that not having a wire is a small thing, but it makes all the difference in the world.

I'm using a rock-solid (old) Nokia 6500 series, but since it's over 3 weeks old, it's horribly obsolete. But with the size of the thing, and the correspondenly large battery, it's fairly tolerant of abuse and easy to find. And, that larger battery gives me some more time between charges.

Camera phones are jokes, if you care any at all about picture quality. Those aren't much of an attraction to me.

I can't stand goofy bastiches walking about talking to themselves with a wireless earbud. Hopefully there's a nth circle of hell created just for those sorts...

    ;D

it depends on what you want. If its a basic phone, any company will do. The top two companies now are Sony Ericsson and Nokia. Motorola has had some troubles and aren't as innovative in new products. It also depends on the carrier and what they offer.
Theres a few sonys and nokias with 3-5 megapixel cameras!
As for the headset, get one with a car charger. You can plug it in your car and not need to deal with charging at home, moving it around etc.
    www.phonearena.com
has a phone finder and user ratings. Good luck!
