Trip Stuff
The only hitch on the whole eastbound trek was a giant wide-load with a police escort near Wilcox AZ that kept traffic bumper-to-bumper for almost an hour. Good thing I had automatic transmission and a kickass MP3 player to keep me from getting clutch-cramp and/or road rage.

Tennessee is TDOT roadbuilder's country: there's always something torn up, because TDOT's desire is to pave the entire state over...and with the lawmakers in the state house firmly in their pocketses, it's happening.
Knoxville's former mayor Victor Ashe made the mistake of challenging TDOT's wishes, and Knoxville has paid for it with more Orange Barrels than high school grads...now TDOT wants their own taxing authority, and threatens toll roads.
Such is the result of unions and contractors having a dedicated revenue stream...

Ocotillo Road exit...ain't that more like Benson, big fella? That pic doesn't show a big, flat spot next to I-10(that would be Wilcox. My mommy lives there)...it shows a valley instead.

Benson... Made famous in the song 'Benson, Arizona', in John Carpenter's first movie Dark Star.
Lots of early '70's required to enjoy that one.. ;-D
