Before I deployed last year, a couple of the guys in my shooting gang brought their 12-gauge AKs to the range. They were fun, but short of the actual zombie apocalypse they don't seem really useful. The AKs were a bit fussy about what ammo they liked and didn't like but the cheaper stuff seemed to work the best, so there is that.
