I'm not a real Cowboy, but I play one in the movies.
It's always a possibility that any summertime Pima 5th Sunday 3-Gun match will get monsooned out. No matter how nice it is tomorrow, today's weather determines whether the set-up crew can even reach the Pima Pistol Club range over the 1 and a half lane desert dirt trail at the end of Bowman Road in Catalina.

I tells ya, if it rained again there this afternoon, it'll be looking grim. I got in and out of there this afternoon in Daisycat's Camry...but it was pretty hairy. There's one mutha of a gully right down the middle of the road in the steepest part.
Anyone in a pickup should be ok unless it got a lot worse after we left.
Surprisingly the CDO wash itself was not the biggest challenge.

Actually if we can't set up the match, does anyone have any RC sailboats? There were several nice lakes in the bays we could run 'em on.

...is that a Chevy Corvair Greenbriar van, there? Looks like one my dad owned, in '64. I remember my first emergency room-stitches run in that thing, bleeding all over the seats...something about bicycle chains and sprockets.
But the headlights don't exactly match...

I'm really bummed. It's the only time I get to shoot my shotgun. Maybe we could beg and plead for JR to plan more 3-guns. Four times a year is just not enough!

Tell ya what, y'all try one of the TRC's 3-gun matches, blog it, and I'll try to squeeze one into my shooting schedule based on your say-so.
Don't forget the October 4th Sunday 3-Gun coming up...might be worth the drive to shoot a Cowboy Blob-designed prize match! Most Cactus Leaguers have no complaints about my other Fun Matches.
